SERVICES - 21 Trinity Avenue

SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) Program:
24 hrs a day / 7 days a week

Serving all genders (including trans identified people), ages 13 and over, who have experienced sexual assault in the past 7 days (168 hours).

Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) are registered nurses who have completed specialized education and clinical preparation in medical forensic care for patients who have experienced sexual assault or abuse. On-call SANE nurses provide immediate care within 7 days of a sexual assault to people who would like supportive care, including medical attention, information about resources, as well as the option to have forensic evidence collected.

Every Woman's Centre offers a wide range of services to support women in dealing with personal and social issues that may arise in their daily lives. We can help you find out what resources are available in our community, refer you to an appropriate agency or support you as you go through lifestyle changes; and of course, your children are always welcome.

Come On In ...

Women are welcome to "drop in" to our living room for a cup of tea, read the paper, use the phone, chat with other visitors or staff, or to simply sit and read in the comfort of the space. In addition, Every Woman's Centre offers help with referrals, advocacy, and general Information. Leisure programs are ongoing and Presentations on the Centre may be given upon request.

Small Steps to Big Changes:

We can’t change how and when things happen but we can control how we react to the unexpected or what others do and say. The pandemic has affected folks in so many unique ways. It has changed the way we live and see the world. This program gives us a chance to talk about the past two years, and what we need to do to move positively into the future. We then take part in some common sense exercises to see how we react to everyday situations. The goal is to bring more calm and peace to a world that has been shaken by events that are out of our control.
