SANE Nurse
Appreciation
May 1st, 2026
It's time to shine the spotlight on one of our amazing Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE), Vivian Ramsay!
Over the past 13 years, Vivian’s nursing career has included medical-surgical care, home health, community and institutional settings, mental health and addictions, and correctional health services. Throughout her career, she has focused on supporting individuals during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives, building a strong foundation in compassionate, trauma-informed care that helps survivors feel safe, heard, and believed.
Her training through the Mental Health and Addictions Specialty Program strengthened her clinical knowledge and led her to become a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. Although she often jokes that she is finished with school, she continues to pursue learning and is currently completing studies in Legal Nurse Consulting, further strengthening her understanding of healthcare, forensic documentation, patient advocacy, and the legal system.
Years of working with individuals in crisis has reinforced her belief that trauma-informed care goes beyond clinical practice, it helps people feel human again after trauma. She values the privilege of supporting survivors as they begin to reclaim their safety, voice, dignity, and sense of control.
Vivian believes the care survivors receive immediately after trauma can stay with them long after the exam is over. Through compassionate, respectful care, she works to ensure survivors feel supported and believed, reminding them they do not have to navigate healing alone.
Thank you, Vivian, for your time, dedication, and ongoing service to the SANE team

International Day
of Pink
April 8th, 2026
Today, we wear pink to stand up against bullying, homophobia, transphobia, and discrimination in all its forms
At Every Woman’s Centre, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and accepted for who they are. Wearing pink is more than a colour, it’s a commitment to challenge hate, uplift one another, and create spaces where everyone belongs.
