SANE Nurse
Appreciation
March 1st, 2026
It's time to shine the spotlight on one of our amazing Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE), Rebecca MacCormick!
Since joining the SANE team in 2023, Rebecca has brought a level of compassion and dedication that truly defines survivor-centered care.

With a diverse nursing background in surgical, med-surg and her current work in cardiac and pulmonary rehab, Rebecca brings a wealth of clinical knowledge to every patient encounter. Currently in her final year of the Nurse Practitioner program at Dalhousie University, her commitment to the profession is nothing short of inspiring.
To Rebecca, being a SANE is more than a role- it’s a "privilege and a profound responsibility." Rebecca is a fierce advocate for trauma-informed care, ensuring that every individual they meet feels believed, empowered and treated with the utmost dignity.

Thank you for being a light in the most vulnerable moments and for your unwavering commitment to the survivors in our community.
