International Day
of Pink

April 8th, 2026

Today, we wear pink to stand up against bullying, homophobia, transphobia, and discrimination in all its forms

At Every Woman’s Centre, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and accepted for who they are. Wearing pink is more than a colour, it’s a commitment to challenge hate, uplift one another, and create spaces where everyone belongs.

SANE Yoga

April 1st, 2026

So proud of our SANE team for taking time for some well-deserved self-care

They had the opportunity to enjoy a private yoga class together, giving them a chance to slow down, breathe, and reconnect.

A heartfelt thank you to Tammy from CBHolisticHealth for creating such a welcoming, calming, and supportive space for them.

SANE Nurse
Appreciation

April 1st, 2026

It's time to shine the spotlight on one of our amazing Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE), Brittany Gould!

Brittany is a wonderful example of the heart and versatility it takes to be a nurse. Since beginning her career in 2020, she has brought incredible skill to her work in stroke, cardiology, and critical care. While she continues to serve our community in the ICU, we were so glad to have her join our SANE team in January 2025. Brittany’s passion for helping those through acute trauma and her commitment to sexual health education make her an invaluable advocate for patient-centered care.

She recently shared some insight into how this work has shaped her perspective:

"I think it's really important to meet people where they are. Everyone responds differently to trauma and it's my job as a SANE to help the client in a trauma-informed way. Nursing can be so methodical, but my work as a SANE has reminded me (even in my work in critical care) to slow down and see my client holistically, not just in the context of illness or trauma."

For Brittany, the move into forensic nursing in a rural setting has been a rewarding new chapter in her career:

"I've always been interested in forensics. I feel really lucky to be able to practice this specialty in a rural area. It's so different from my job in critical care. That's the cool thing about nursing, there's so many different areas and opportunities. I'm glad I don't have to limit myself to just one."

Brittany—thank you for your tireless hard work, your compassion, and your unwavering commitment to our clients and program. We are so incredibly lucky to have your expertise and your heart on our team
