Women living on low income are provided with the opportunity to work together in a non-traditional work environment. These women earn income in the form of goods and services, as well as experience increased social connections and support, improved quality of life, and increased employability skills.
Hands Earning Respect for Self
Sponsored and supported by the Every Woman's Centre, HERS operates as a retail business which produces and sells "one-of-a-kind" items to the general public. HERS offers a concrete & viable program for women experiencing economic hardship the opportunity to recognize their existing marketable skills, to learn new ones and to earn income in the form of goods and services.

The HERS participants work co-operatively, improving their quality of life for themselves while supporting one another. The goals of the project are achieved through project outcomes for the participants which will help them develop new, useful skill sets for future benefit. All donations and money earned goes directly back into the HERS Project and its clientele!

Special Display
The HERS Gift Shop is featuring a Special Display each month! April will feature “Baskets“.
Basketry, the art of weaving “Baskets”, has a history stretching back over 10,000 years. In early times baskets were primarily used for gathering, storing and transporting food, but also served a ceremonial and decorative purpose. Baskets are made from many different materials including wicker, bamboo, plastic, grasses, fax, wheat and wood. Weavers have designed specialty baskets like knitting baskets, sewing baskets and many more. Baskets can be used to store towels in your bathroom, display your favorite plants and treasures and of course gather “Easter“ eggs and treats!
Drop in the Shop at 234 Bentinck Street and check out our feature, mix it up and change it up! The price is right!
